What we make and where it fits

Felt studio designs and makes interior felt goods for people who want quieter, softer spaces. You’ll find our textiles on walls, floors, seats, and ceilings: wall felt for bedrooms and receptions, runners by the hearth, soft window seats, banquette wraps in cafes, entry mats, desk mats, felt trays, acoustic panels, and ceiling clouds. All our felt is cut and finished in our Woodstock studio, ready to fit right where you need softness and calm.

Our goods suit homes, offices, clinics, hotels, schools, restaurants and public spaces. Whether you are reworking a busy Joburg office, softening a Cape Town living room, or upgrading a Durban clinic, our felt pieces tame noise and add comfort.

How to start your felt order

Most people begin by seeing and touching samples. Visit our Woodstock sample library or stop by our appointment showrooms in Rosebank, Canal Walk, Gateway, Menlyn, Tyger Valley, Brooklyn Design Square or the V&A Waterfront. We help you choose finishes and talk through sizing, fixings and best use for local climate.

After you’ve picked your colours and finishes, we measure up for fit, confirm your quote and cut each piece to size. Our team can deliver and install across South Africa. All details, including fibre choice and test data, are confirmed on your written quote before you order.

Choosing between wool felt and polyester acoustic felt

Both wool felt and polyester acoustic felt work well on walls, ceilings and screens, but each has its best uses. Wool felt is naturally sound-softening, helps buffer room humidity, and resists ignition, but it needs proper airing to avoid mustiness, and regular care to stay moth-free. Polyester acoustic felt is tough, shrugs off humidity and moths, and is easy to spot clean, but keep it away from hot surfaces.

We’ll help you pick the right felt for your setting and confirm all fibre and test results on your quote. Every space is different, so let us know if you’re unsure what will suit your room or project.
