Entry
Dense felt entry mats collect grit and dust at the door, protecting your floors and runners from wear and scratches in any busy entryway.
Entry Mat Soft is our practical felt entry mat, designed to catch the bulk of outside grit, sand and dust before it reaches timber floors, runners or soft carpets. High-density felt gives each mat a solid, cushioned feel underfoot, making it welcoming at the front door and effective in busy residential or hospitality entrances.
We see these mats in apartment lobbies, office foyers, passageways, home entries and boot rooms. Place them wherever you want to keep floors cleaner and safer, especially with South Africa's dusty Highveld winters, coastal sand, or the muddy traffic that comes with Cape storms.
Dense felt grabs grit well, so shoes shed their dust and sand as you step in. This protects the floor behind it, whether it is a timber passage or a valuable runner. The grip back keeps the mat steady on tiles, vinyl or timber, so it does not slide when people arrive in a rush or with wet soles.
The bound edge stops the mat from curling or wearing out at the sides, and the high-density felt keeps its shape longer than a loose pile mat. The felt surface dampens footsteps and absorbs a bit of room noise, which can help keep a small lobby or entryway quieter.
Entry Mat Soft comes in two sizes: 900 by 600 and 1200 by 800 millimetres. The smaller size suits flats, small offices or as a boot mat, while the larger one works in wider entries, lobbies or busy family homes.
You can choose from our current colourways: Sage Field, Mist Paper, Ink Edge, Soft Leaf, Stone Wash, Cloud Pale, Forest Mute, Sand Quiet, Clay Mute and Teal Soft. If you are working with an architect or designer, bring a floorplan or a photo to your appointment at one of our showrooms so we can guide your colour and placement.
Lay your Entry Mat Soft flat on a clean, dry floor so that the grip backing holds. For tiled surfaces, sweeping or vacuuming before you place the mat helps it stick down securely. If the mat arrives rolled, give it a day or two to relax and flatten after unrolling.
Vacuum regularly, especially in high foot traffic areas. Felt is a non-woven textile so edges will not fray, but regular brushing lifts out grit. Spot clean with a damp cloth for most dust or spills. If the mat gets very wet, lay it flat to dry in the shade and never leave it damp, as wool felt can go musty if it does not dry out properly.
