Everyday care keeps Banquette Wrap looking good

Brush your Banquette Wrap regularly with a soft upholstery brush to lift dust and crumbs. A light hand is all you need to keep the felt surface looking smooth.

Vacuum with a soft head attachment at least weekly in busy cafes or after a run of service. Pay attention to the seams and edges, where grit and debris like to settle. Don’t press too hard: felt is tough, but a gentle touch gets the best results.

Managing spots and spills quickly

For any spill, blot up the liquid straight away with a clean, dry towel. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the stain deeper. Use cool water and a splash of mild wool wash or upholstery shampoo for most marks.

Always test your cleaning solution on a hidden corner before working on the main surface. Rinse lightly with a damp cloth and blot dry. Let the wrap dry flat and out of direct sun, never use a heater or try to speed up the drying, as this can shrink or distort the felt.

Seasonal care for South African conditions

On the Highveld, winter brings dust and dry air, so up your brushing and vacuum routine during July and August. Sun can fade the felt if booths sit near big north windows: rotate loose cushions and consider UV film or blinds if your banquette wrap is in strong light year round.

Coastal venues need to watch for damp and salt air, especially through Cape Town’s rainy season or Durban humidity. Open windows when possible, and keep booths dry and aired. For all locations, moth and beetle larvae can feed on felt, mostly wherever it stays dirty or undisturbed too long. If you ever store Banquette Wrap, make sure it’s clean, dry, and never sealed in plastic.
