Care

A little brushing, spot cleaning and fresh air go far to keep felt looking and feeling its best. Find help for common care situations here.

Common felt care questions and answers

Wool felt responds well to gentle upkeep. Brush or vacuum regularly (especially along edges and seams) to keep dust and moths at bay. For a simple refresh, hang or lay felt in open shade on a dry day: this helps release odours and excess moisture. Always store felt dry and never in sealed plastic.

Spot clean spills quickly with a cool, damp cloth. Blot, do not rub, as hot water or agitation may shrink wool felt. For polyester acoustic felt, a little mild upholstery shampoo can lift marks, just avoid heat from irons, heaters or direct sun. Soft trays and desk mats do well with a quick vacuum and occasional wipe.

If your felt goods develop a musty smell, ensure they dry out fully in gentle shade. For stains or stubborn marks, let us know your situation: some spots need a specialist approach.
