How Teal Soft feels and looks in different light

Teal Soft is a muted blue-green, gentle rather than bright. In natural daylight, the colour shows a cool, fresh tone with a touch of grey, sitting comfortably between blue and green. As the sun goes down or in warm lamplight, it deepens, picking up a softer almost shadowy hue that doesn’t shout for attention.

On felt, Teal Soft is never glossy: the fibre texture diffuses the light, so the shade looks quiet and even. The nap of the felt can catch the light in one direction. Sometimes you’ll notice that piping in Teal Soft looks a shade lighter or darker from different angles, which is quite normal for a textile finish.

Where Teal Soft piping works best

We reserve Teal Soft for piping details on banquette wraps and window seat cushions, mainly in hospitality settings like restaurants, cafés, and hotel lounges. It’s a refreshing alternative to the usual neutrals and adds a gentle accent without overpowering the main upholstery.

This finish pairs well with other quiet tones, such as Clay Mute or Stone Wash, especially if you want a calm but interesting interior. Teal Soft looks elegant in soft daylight, but you might want to check how it sits next to your main felt or linen finishes in your own room before you settle on it.

How to test a Teal Soft swatch at home

Order a swatch of Teal Soft through our contact form so you can see the true colour on the actual felt. Even though the dye recipe stays the same, there can be small shifts between dye lots, so its always safer to approve a current sample before placing your full order.

Felt fades in direct sun, especially in the Highveld’s strong winter light. Keep your swatch near a sunny window for a few days if you plan to place piping or cushions in a bright spot. If you can, rotate pieces and consider using blinds or a UV film to help the colour last.
